A bridge too far

The day has been warm and sunny with the sky the deepest of blues.  The builders have cleared up and gone and finally the leak has stopped.  Now it just remains to repaint the room but fortunately, unlike the repair, that will be covered on the insurance.  I bought crab, dab and squid for dinner which we will have with baby spinach and brandade de morue (salt cod purée).  I walked down by the river in the afternoon only to discover that the bridge has been swept away in the winter rains.
