A little gem

Had to get some errands from the butcher's shop in the small village of Berlingen, and the parking space there is my absolute favourite. Being parked in the first row is so special. The picture was just taken out of the car – after I applied the handbrake :-)

Coincidentally the excursion ship was just there. The 2015 service has just started yesterday and I am looking forward to be on one of the ships soon. The company called URH is celebrating its 150 anniversary, offering cruises between Schaffhausen and Kreuzlingen. Going up the river Rhine it is a 4h30 trip, down only 3h30. Fully recommended !

The last paddle steamer was in service until 1967, but since a few years there is an initiative to bring back a new paddle steamer as tourist attraction. So far 2'000 people have joined the association and work on convincing the stakeholders about the potential value.
