The little soldier
I didn't feel quite so enthusiastic when I got up today and saw the hot weather had broken. Still, perhaps a better day to be stuck in the office than feeling that I'm missing out on a sunny day.
It didn't seem to bother Ethan who was in a great mood when we picked him up from nursery. We paid a trip to Toys R Us where he played in their toy cars, then went to Sainsbury's "just" to buy some nappies. £40 later we'd bought him some new clothes too (hard to resist when they do 25% off specials)! We lost track of time and didn't get home till nearly 6.30pm so I had to come up with a quick dinner for him. Decided to try him with a boiled egg & soldiers for the first time. He thought dipping the soldiers in the egg was great fun but wasn't so keen on eating the egg itself. He did pretty well though considering how late in the evening it was although after a bit of messing about we had to resort to the naughy step before he came back to the table for more. He wolfed down melon for pudding which was good to see as he's not great about eating fruit these days.
I've only recently started trying to use the naughty step with him properly. It does seem to work although for some bizarre reason he appears to enjoy going there and this evening asked to go back! Still, the main thing he I do get a "sorry" from him afterwards for whatever he has done, followed by a cuddle and then he will come back and do whatever it was we were trying to do in the first place.
