cupcakes

My kids said, "hey, wouldn't it be fun to make cupcakes with absolutely no help?" 
I was dubious, but I do wish they were more independent, so I handed them an electric beater and told them to call if they needed help. I laid on my bed listening to the crazy chaos from the kitchen. When I came down to check, they had them in the oven, swelling over the edges of the pan, all 24 cupcakes in one 12 cupcake pan. The recipe said nothing about filling them only halfway. So they came out looking like mushrooms, but otherwise perfect. The kitchen was trashed. Next time, they are going to have to clean up with absolutely no help.
