A sad, sad day
So, I got it wrong about Florence.
We had a lovely walk yesterday evening, when I took yesterday's blip, then we came home. Florrie seemed bright and better again. I went up to bed at 10 and heard a strange noise from downstairs. Martin shouted up that she had suddenly become unwell. I phoned the emergency vet and Martin took her straight over. They scanned her again and said they had to
operate straight away. They opened her up and the infection had spread. They phoned us at 3.30am to ask us what we wanted to do. They said if she could fight the infection then her quality of life would be good, so we said to proceed.
The vet phoned us this morning and said she was bright and had been up and out and we should go in to see her at about 2 with a view to bringing her home to recover. Sadly, at 12 she went into respiratory arrest and couldn't be resuscitated.
Broken hearted.
