Nice weather for ducks!!!!!!!

What a horrible drizzly dreary day for Good Friday!

We took a drive over to visit youngest son and his wife this morning, to deliver their replacement toaster, as the one we bought them at Christmas had packed in! We were treated to a lovely lunch which included scones with clotted cream and strawberries!! Pleased to report that son's eye has made a good recovery post op, two weeks Monday for his other eye now!

We also collected our grass rake and loppers as we intend to do some more gardening on Monday, weather permitting! As we were leaving, as predicted, the rain had really set in!

Im sure I've mentioned before that we have a small preserved lake in the middle of our estate; the ducks at this time of year do go walkabout, so you have drive cautiously! Last year, a female nested in next doors fern garden! It's also why we cover over our own pond in the garden, as its really too small for ducks; they churn up all the silt and eat all the plants too!

I daresay there will be plenty of ducks wandering around over the next few weeks.......and I'll be watching through the kitchen windows, and laughing, as hub chases them from the garden, they do make a mess with all their poop, and they tread all over the borders too! ;-)

As we arrived home this afternoon, we were greeted at the bottom of our driveway...........not by one of the kids, but by a rather lovely white duck ;-)
