High and Dry
Good Friday and our last full day in Sandend. There was a slight air borne drizzle which didn't deter me from roaming the village with my camera to capture the essence of the place. The photos will give me something to remember until we can return.
After our morning coffee in Cullen, and with the sun trying to make an appearance, we had a woodland walk under huge beech trees and fir trees to a little lochan covered in reeds.
The sound of an unseen woodpecker sounded loud through the woods and the smell of damp forest was all pervasive.
Our afternoon will be a last visit to Portsoy, its harbour and its lake, not forgetting the ice cream shop where even the chill wind will not deter us from the bliss of watching crashing waves while licking ice cream cones.
The simple pleasures are sometimes the best.
