Green Bee-eater

This beautiful bird had just had a bath and was on this thorn branch soaking up the sun. Soon after this the police turned up driving towards me in the river wadi! I thought I was going to be in trouble, but apart from the fact they moved every single bird in a flurry into the sky the gave me a very friendly, cheery wave and drove on through and out of the Wadi! Omani's are so friendly, even the police! I would hate to loose my secret bird haven!
