#BlackLivesMatter

Jasmine Reid and Teressa Raiford spoke in Portland today on behalf of Black Lives Matter, at a rally sponsored by the National Lawyers Guild Lewis and Clark Chapter. 

Black Lives Matter, or #BlackLivesMatter if you like, is not an organization but a way of thinking, a way of life. One of the founders of the movement, who calls herself a "black queer woman," offers  their public statement here.  

All the speakers at today’s rally were women, and they set a tone of strength, respect, and intense commitment to build a better world, a safer world, a world with less violence, a world without racism. More power to them!
