Back home. A walk along the canal and saw this bird - it looks like a cormorant or a shag - can anyone tell? Very unusual to see one on the canal, I thought.
A bit further along the canal and I noticed a heron flying overhead - never seen a heron on the canal, they usually hang out on the Water of Leith. 
First day back in town and I see two large birds, and wish I had my camera with me :-)
It is April 1st, but this isn't a hoax!
