Farmerboab

Heads or tails ?

A bit stressed first thing. The lorry in at 7.30 to collect the 37 cattle for St Boswells.  He had met a loaded timber lorry coming the other way on the single track road,so had to reverse for a mile and a half to let him past. Then the cattle were dour to load and one went over a gate. Then had to tow the loaded lorry up the yard with a tractor as artics are useless in mud.
Eventually made it to the sale ring. A bit disappointed, but could have been worse. They averaged 539K and £1163. Last year they were 536K and £1187. So heavier but worth less. The joys of farming !
Still, managed a feed in the canteen before I headed back to cheer my self up.
Mrs Farmerboab and sprogs arrived home early tonight. Had forgotten they got their Easter holidays today.
