Wiggly wet wood louse

The frog spawn is 'hatching' - little tadpoles are keeping close. My daughter thinks I'm being maternal! To tadpoles?

I learnt today that if they are frog tadpoles, they're called 'An Army'. If they're toad tadpoles, they're called 'A Knot'.

I admit that I was staring admiringly at the tadpoles but I did rescue the wood louse.

I only headed to the pond for a water blip so that I could mention the flood at work. Firemen arrived.
