What a difference a day makes
Went walking today, and spent most of the day up in mist!!! We were near Glendevon, climbing Commonedge Hill and Seamab Hill, and had a good day even if we could hardly see in front of us. Crossing a bit of bog I was struck by the beauty of the Cotton-grass, a very ordinary wee plant some would say, but it looked lovely waving in the slight breeze.
Cott0n-grass favours boggy ground with peaty, acid soil and is common throughout the UK. The leaves are dark green and narrow. The fruits have cottony hairs.
Weather has cooled quite a bit, only about 20C today, but still sunny and pleasant except where we were!!!!
Try viewing it in large.
