High Water
In the office all morning. Managed to escape late afternoon to do some site visits in a very wet Marsden and Shepley.
Marsden is the last outpost on the West Yorkshire side of the Standedge crossing of the Pennines into the Dark Side.
Here the Huddersfield Narrow Canal and the transpennine rail link enter the parallel rail and canal tunnels to the west of the town.
Boats have to negotiate a series of locks to reach the level of the tunnel and it's at this point that the Narrow Canal reaches 197m above sea level to become the highest canal in the country.
One more day to go to the Easter break !
