Seagull acrobatics!

Tons of seagulls were perched on the wood planks that surround the docking areas at the yacht club today--all enjoying the sun & the slightly warmer temps, no doubt! The 2 juveniles (the light brown ones) kept trading off the spot on their perch, & I managed to capture the white one just as it was taking off--almost looks like it's going to do a swan dive!  One brave, lone kayaker was out on the water--I watched him make it almost to the opening in the breakers, but by then he was really struggling against the strong wind, so finally turned & came back! 
I have a few more gull pictures from today on flickr in case anyone'd like to have a look.  Just a beautiful day--such a shame I had to waste so much of it by being at work!!   There should be a law that you only have to go to work when the weather is crummy!!    :))
