Pied Butcherbird pops in or a pose & a feed

Pied, the Butcherbird, (Cracticus nigrogularis) pops in more often than not lately. Picks out a piece of meat or cheese & flies off, meanwhile having posed for several minutes. They are one of the smartest birds I have met, are very good judges of character, and have the clearest tone, when calling/singing, of all the Australian birds. Each call is different, & varies from area to area, but you know when you have one around by the clarity of the notes
