Namibian Ibex

Ibex, or Steenbok, live in a variety of habitats from semi-desert, such as the edge of the Kalahari Desert and Etosha National Park, to open woodland and thickets, including open plains, stony savannah, and Acaciagrassland mosaics. They are said to favour unstable or transitional habitats.

We're in Namibia and today drove from Norotshama River Lodge on the Orange River (see yesterday's blip) through the  Ai-Ais/Richtersveld Transfrontier Park, where we were camping last week, on the other side of the Orange River, in South Africa. We're now in Aus and have had a brilliant day! Blue faced monkey, baboon, water monitor, Ibex, Springbok - have I forgotten anything! These Ibex were absolutely amazing - a really large herd. How lucky can you get.

Thanks for the lovely comments about the Orange River Sunset - much appreciated.
