When all else fails

I packed my Nikon and trip-pod in the trunk.  On the way home from work,  I drove down a one lane gravel path to get a shot of the streaming sun through the warped planks of this old barn.  The problem was  I had to walk through the squishy mud of a  corn field to set it up.  When I hit the shutter - nothing.  A dead battery.  What is most frustrating is that the crows were humiliating me.
Anyway, I had my iphone back in the car. Not the shot I planned, but sometimes you have to go with the flow.
