japan in Dumfries

these are Japanese carp streamers ( koinobori) traditionally flown in honour of Children's Day ( May 5th). Here they are flying outside Dumfries Museum, where there is currently an exhibition about Japan. The white building was once a windmill, then an observatory, and now houses the town's Camera Obscura, part of the museum.
