Life from city to village

The clock returns

Oakwood Clock had been removed for restoration, and the main structure arrived back today - causing considerable discussion! The greenish roof etc... is now blue, the mucky griffins are now gold, and the main structure is a really pale ivory! It stands out amazingly - and I doubt its ever been that clean in situ before! The original clock was built to stand in the 1904 hall of the Leeds Kirkgate Market. It came to Oakwood in around 1912 - so would have already acquired a touch of the "worn" look.

Anyway, since I've picked up my new car (which goes like a dream!), I popped round to catch a few pictures, and caught this one with the moon in the background.
