The Lady of Shallnot

The day was long
My muscles ached
I'd cooked and served, cleaned and baked.
I took a bath
And fell asleep
Then slid right down in waters deep...
The Lady of Shallnot.

The water was very hot and the heat made my glasses steam up so I gave up trying to read. I closed my eyes and after a long day working it wasn't long before I'd nodded off. It was a nasty shock to slip under the water and wake up spluttering. Therefore, I shall not be sleeping in the bath again unless I am more prepared. I couldn't find my snorkel so I had to make do with a straw.
