Flash Did Not Fire

I bought a wireless flash trigger unit from Jacob's after work. On testing it does not appear to fire my particlar flash from my particular camera. Ho hum...

i do however have other cameras and other flashes but due to the amount of house-moving related flux none are easily locatable.
