Technicolour Tuesday - Perfectly placed

Our Manchurian pear is in full colour at the moment, and there is a lavender bush right underneath.  The colour contrasts are so pretty.

Very hot today - but we have rain forecast for tomorrow afternoon.  I sure hope we get some.  I've lost a miniature conifer I've nurtured for more than 10 years, despite the fact that is too hot here.  That two weeks away in Victoria and NSW did for it.  I left the drippers on, but I guess it just wasn't enough.  I thing we've lost a birch tree too, but that was already struggling with borers. 

The upside is that we can maybe now re-plan that particular garden bed and plant something a bit more suited to our changing climate.  I might put in a grevillia or something similar for the birds.
