Land of The Dead
A mere shell of it's days of glory, the Remington Arms facility in Bridgeport Connecticut was a vital arm of munition manufacturing at the height of World War II. The city was an ideal location because it had the machinist, the tool manufacturing and the ports to ship cargo abroad to many of our allies, and was a strong contributor for our troops during both theaters of the war.
Now a decaying campus of buildings long forgotten, and some say are haunted, RA is now owned by the General Electric Corporation, who has been planning to demolish the buildings for years now. A series of mysterious fires over the past few years has expedited the decaying process of the two main buildings. Locals call the site "Land of The Dead" because of it's storied incidents of recorded paranormal activities.
A police captain, Duke University paranormal experts, and others have documented very mysterious activities occurring on the campus. There are reportedly foot steps heard while inside of the buildings, strange sounds, and gun shots that appear to mirror the sounds of gun testing which was conducted on the grounds many years ago.
A late 19th century cemetery across the street from the RA Shot Tower building adds to the very creepy, gloomy, and apparent darkness that the grounds and landscape projects upon the lower east side of the city, rendering the surrounding communities a desolate place screaming for urban renewal and economic development.
