Tamales de trigo
Drove back to Patzcuaro today. for Semana Santa, the indigenous Purepecha people have set up a row of wood fired vats to make special steamed tamales de trigo, not to be confused with the usual tamales de mais. The former have kind of a sweet bread consistency and taste.
This mujer was more than anxious for us to try a few, and to be photographed, also with us.
