Carol Kaye was born 80 years ago on this day, 24 March 1935, in Everett WA. A session musician, she has played bass guitar or guitar on countless top sessions, predominantly in the Los Angeles area, and worked extensively with Phil Spector and Brian Wilson. She played on River Deep Mountain High, You've Lost That Loving Feeling  and Heroes And Villains, which was recorded in sections over 8 months. It is heard here in the original stereo mix for the Smile sessions.
