In The Occupied Territory

Waiting for the man

It was a pleasure to meet the Former First Minister, and, as history will show, one of the most important men in Scottish history.
Some may read that and think, " Stuff and nonsense," or words to that effect. But being the first person to enable a referendum into the separation of the Union, and despite the result, politics in the U.K. will never be the same again.
In my lifetime at least.

He was doing a book signing in the bookshop in Ellon ( yes these things still exist) and we were hoping that the queue wouldn't be over long. But as we arrived just before 1300 hrs, we saw the man himself along with his p.a. walking along the road from the Buchan Hotel after having his lunch. There were a few people waiting, and a foreign t.v. crew.
A lot more people turned up though, and I expect more during the afternoon no doubt.
Nobody would eat the complimentary jelly beans on offer, but at Alec's request I helped myself to one.

He was friendly, funny and very down to earth.

I await the sarcastic comments via my facebook page.
