Frogspawn
An update on the frogspawn in my pond, which is fascinating to just look at.
A brief explanation as I am no expert at all - and as I understand depending upon the species of frog.
In essence at the moment the 'tadpoles' aren't tadpoles yet, they are like little black balls inside small greyish bubbles, and there are lots of these grey bubbles, mostly underwater (they like still water I've been told).
If there are no hitches along the way, tadpoles will hatch roughly around 21 days after the eggs are laid, then grow legs 16 days after this. In the early summer once the tails have been absorbed they basically look like a small frog and emerge from the water/pond.
I will repeat though, this can vary and is by no means a timescale I'm sticking to with this - as I don't know what the weather will be like and I don't know what species it is.
I will let you know how it goes :-)
