Rain, Ruffled

It has been pouring in Essex for most of the day. I have been busy killing the fatted calf for my son. :)

I noticed this wood pigeon on the lawn in contortions with its feathers ruffled. I opened the window and managed this shot. My camera was set for birds in flight. By the time I had reduced the shutter speed with the intention of capturing the torrential rain as stair rods the bird had flown. :(
