bracing walk along the canal tow path to view the decorated egg shaped boards that make up the Easter Egg Trail. Em's nursery class transformed theirs into a brooding goose, complete with wings covered in handprint feathers, a basket of eggs and a natty lime green bonnet. I may be biased but I thought it was one of the best. The canal is a strange spot, built in the days when Ulverston was a thriving port, rivalling Liverpool, if you can believe it. Neglected and abused over many years, the regeneration group are striving to breathe life and purpose back into the waterway.
