Top of the Rock

Another packed day of sightseeing , shopping and more sightseeing!  We had a bit of a later start today - didn't get out of the hotel until around 11:30, knowing that we were going to be out late in order to catch the sunset from the top of the Rockefeller Center.

Started out with a lovely wander around Central Park, including a walk down the Mall Promenade.  We were heading for the Rockefeller Center and lunch after that, but got distracted by the hugest UniQlo ever, and both tried on and bought lots of things.  We went for lunch after that - and realised that it was already 3:30pm.  Oops, no wonder we were hungry!

Had a walk down Fifth Avenue, popping in a few more shops, then got back to the Rockefeller Center shortly before 6pm.  I quickly logged into the free wifi there and chatted to Tim on Whatsapp for a while before he went to bed, then Char and I headed up to the Top of the Rock.  It was SO busy up there.  We thought we were being so clever by timing our visit for sunset, but it turned out everyone else had had the same idea.  Had to be very patient to get to the front for pictures, but it did pay off, and there were some amazing, clear views up there.

Walked back to our hotel via a great fast food Mexican restaurant which also served rather good margaritas.  Well, it would have been rude not to...!
