Snake in the grass

Few spring flowers to show people on my guided walk at the reserve yesterday, but this was an interesting surprise find. The metre-long grass snake was sadly dead and had been mauled a bit, but it was a great opportunity for people to see one close-up (holding noses, as it was starting to smell a bit!).
