strong and brave and true - for your country...

today is memorial day - in the united states... a day of remembering those who have served our country - given their lives - as a sacrifice... so that we might live free - without worry or care...

poppies are for remembering... a sign around the globe - recognized as such - so it seemed fitting to use one today - as a way of paying tribute...

however - i believe in my heart every day should be a memorial day - for those who have given their lives - and continue to do so... it shouldn't be one day set aside to remember... we should be grateful as a nation, a country... indeed as the world - for all of those men and women who put their lives on the line every day for us... so we are allowed to continue to live freely the way in which we do. in turn we need to learn to say "thank you" - all the time... not just on one day a year - every day... for the sacrifices they make on our behalf - for the calling they have responded to - to serve their country/ies... we are most fortunate for these dedicated individuals - without them, we would not have...
