Windswept willows
The bright green leaves on this willow shine out against the slate grey sky. The wind was quite strong which, combined with the dry, recently tilled fine soil of the wide flat fields in this area, resulted in a 'fen blow' - a dust storm which can, if near the road, result in reduced visibility.
This pic shows the blow some distance away. <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/128592161@N02/16957118135" title="A 'fen blow' - the combination of dry, recently tilled soil and strong wind blowing across the dead flat terrain results in a 'sandstorm' effect. by Valerie Kennett, on Flickr">
