Wall Street

First full day in New York!  We caught the subway down to South Ferry, had a walk around Battery Park and bought tickets for tomorrow to go to Ellis Island and Liberty Island.  Also nipped into Wall Street (where I took this photo) on the way to visit the World Trade Center memorial.  Incredibly beautiful and moving memorial (WTC, not Wall Street) - the scale of it is terrifyingly huge but at the same time it is now so beautiful and serenely peaceful.  An impressive feat, and a fitting tribute to all those who lost their lives, and for their families, too.

Did a bit of shopping (ok, a LOT of shopping) in Century 21, then caught the subway back up to Times Square and had a little look around there before going back for a rest in our hotel.

Absolutely exhausted by the evening, so we popped out for a quick Thai meal around the corner, had one beer back in the room and collapsed into bed!
