Goslings crêche in the park
Another day working at the office in Derby today, so at lunchtime I decided to go back to Alvaston Park to see how the coot that I blipped on 14th May was getting on.
To my surprise I found that the nest that it had built in a precarious location was fine and the coot was there standing proudly on the nest.
I took a few shots of it, but then came across a this lovely group of goslings. I have never seen such a large group of them. They seemed to be being supervised by six adult geese. I stood and watched them feeding on grass for a while, and then when I walked on the adults led them all down to the lake for a swim.
