First rain since early December
The promised rain arrived. I think the first time since the first week of December. Good news for the slurry - one can see on the field some areas got a good dose.
The swimming pool is still iced over and in the plant bed just above the pool, one can see the last few bits of snow.
Dug up the last of the carrots from the garden as they are beginning to regrow. They are wonderfully sweet and really firm. Superb. Have kept as many as possible for human consumption but most will end up in the horse troughs as they won't store well now. I can't believe how they have survived - totally unprotected. The weeks of snow gave sufficient cover for the very few cold nights.
We still haven't got a single flower in the garden though.
