Tollie Pier

These posts are all that remain of the Tollie Pier, at the Western end of Loch Maree.

A 45' paddle steamer, SS Mabel, ran from Talladale near the Loch Maree Hotel to Tollie Pier and Rhu Nohar, at the Eastern end of the loch, between 1883 and 1911. Apparently,  the remains of the steamer are also in the water but I've never seen them.

We decided to eat our lunch down on the shore but after we had got the dogs and rucksacks out of the car, we realised that we'd forgotten to bring it with us!

This wouldn't have been too bad but we had forgotten it yesterday as well. I had to console myself with the fact that at least I wasn't going to put on weight.
