Safer Motherhood and Child Survival #Philippines
Our '1000 Days' programme in the Philippines cares for women and their babies from conception right through to a child's second birthday.
This period is a critical time, and inadequate nutrition can cause irreparable damage to physical and mental development.
This photo is of a group of mothers and their babies who have all now graduated from the programme, meaning that the child has reached 1000 days since conception. In the centre is Jose Perfecto, the field officer who trained the 1000 days IMPACT volunteers, monitored all field activities, data captured and helped bring the concept into a reality.
In the words of IMPACT Philippines Director…
“…The kids are so tall, energetic and…active. It is triumph of will versus circumstance with an all-out effort to give our children a better tomorrow.”
