Male Mandarin duck

Today was my 3rd meeting of my birdwatching group. I am really enjoying it. One of our group described the mandarin duck as ' the most glamorous of the species' and I think that is very apt.
My new bird to look out for is the Treecreeper. Fascinating little creatures. The ones we were looking at were darting around so quickly that I couldn't get a  photo. I also spotted and correctly identified a wren (last months 'new bird') so I was quite proud of myself!
