The other part of my Eagle Project
When I did my cemetery restoration for my Eagle Scout Project, I also decided to upgrade the records that the church already had. As the previous records were kept in a shoe box, they were unorganized and difficult to follow. Therefore, I decided to make a map with a corresponding book to provide more information for people trying to find a specific grave. This is the finished product. From left to right are my mom, my grandmother, myself, and my aunt. My aunt is also holding her oversized cat, Winston. We spent the morning of one day at the cemetery looking at the stones, brushing them off, and putting sawdust on them to attempt to see what they said and then recorded the information. We then spent the better part of another day creating the map itself, and then some more time typing up the corresponding book that went with it. During your Eagle Scout project, you are required to keep track of your time, and the time that other people would have spent. My total time came to a little less than 1400 hours, and the time of the other people helping came out around 3300 hours total. However, this time does not include my aunt’s cat because he slept through most of the day.
