My mom used to make this awesome chocolate cake, for birthdays or special occasions or boring Mondays. It's not that it was a complicated recipe, but it was my mom's cake. Then, she lost the recipe. So for years, that cake was a no-show.
Ah, the miracles of Internet! I found the recipe, and last night, to celebrate my birthday (it's actually today, but seriously, who feels like celebrating on a Monday?), she made the cake: chocolate, 2 layers, strawberries and whipped cream in the middle, chocolate whipped cream on top with raspberries. Seems like the perfect plus for a rather boring Monday!
