Britannia Inn, Elterwater

We never tire of walking in Great Langdale, probably our favourite part of the Lake District, having been coming here for over 30 years. The Langdale Pikes, Crinkle Crags and Bowfell tower over the head of the valley, drained by the clear water of Langdale beck. At the end of a walk there is the reward of a pint in the Britannia, as popular today as it has been for many years.
