Forsythia

Full blooming of what is now a common cultivar. Named for William Forsyth, 18th century Scottish botanist and founding member of the RHS. Forsythia is a Chinese native.

I tried several blips today starting with a magnolia which wasn't very successful. I couldn't avoid buildings in the background. So this is an afternoon shot at home after all!

Thank you for all your stars and comments on yesterday's burl. Some can be quite large and can be taken off the tree and carved into bowls and other wooden pieces.
