Lilies

As much as I love having my boys home for the school holidays I hate the mountains of laundry and ironing involved in their version of end of term packing...tip the contents of their wardrobe into bags and when they get home say 'its all dirty mum, it all needs washing' I must have done about 10 wash loads since they got home and I spent all day ironing - no, that is a lie, I did not spend all day ironing, I also cleaned up after three different sittings of breakfast and two for lunch! (They can't quite coordinate their meal times)They can prepare their own food, but their cleaning up afterwards is not quite to my standards so I prefer to do that myself. As to getting them to do their own laundry...well, Adam is studying for his final A level exams so I cannot pull him away from that, and I guess Thomas will just wreck his clothes if he had to iron them.

I went out late this afternoon as I had an appointment and on the way back I decided to get a sunset shot over that duck pond that I photographed a couple of days ago. I was too early so sat there waiting for the sun to sink and I never realised how chilly the wind was. And when I got home I did not like the sunset images, the sunset was not as impressive as it has been the two previous nights - hence a shot of my lilies that are about to be thrown out as they are dying.

Luke is really enjoying working down at the Hamble helping prepare boats for the season, washing hulls, washing sails, and getting them ready for their owners. Today he was even helping crew on a boat which the owner wanted help with when sailing in the Solent. It is a long day with no breaks and a long journey from home to get there and back every day, but he is being well paid so it is worth it. He also has a few interviews for other jobs next week so he is certainly being kept busy.
