Launce Boil Report
Quick dash down to Anglesey to catch a 17:00 high tide at Penmon and a fish for some fresh Mackerel for tea only produced one small Sandlance or Launce from a shoal boiling in a frenzy at the surface.
Had to console ourselves with a quick sundowner in the Gazelle Hotel overlooking Bangor and Pier (photo). Oh well, the pub is right on the waters edge, and I was robbed of a weekend's R&R.
Here for just one night though, but there is method in the madness coming all this way. We have come just to see the Olympic Torch relay coming up the Menai Straits tomorrow at 07:00. Also, high tide at 05:00 - so any takers for more fishing?
Got a meeting in Stoke at 11:00 tomorrow so can't stay long - what a shame!
