Wide Angle Wednesday: Seeing the Point

I'm not sure I got this right.  I think of wide angle as showing a view of scenery.  My lens was at its widest angle for this shot, though.  I tried to make the point of the knife be the focal point of the image. Maybe I should have set it up with something in the background rather than black.  Helpful criticism would be appreciated!  :-)  Thanks to Hobbs for hosting this interesting challenge!
