Stipa arundinacea 'Sirocco'
Busy day. Food shopping and garden centre (just happen to be passing:)) this morning then out after lunch. Continued with painting and repotting and some more weeding on the hydrangea and paeonia bed. I'm probably going to move another paeonia into there.
Also fed the two herbaceous borders.
I couldn't resist this Stipa at the garden centre and it will complement the 3 existing Stipa gigantea in there. It's described as one of the best and most versatile evergreen grasses, which will thrive in sun or shade, and glows shades of copper, gold and bronze in the autumn, hence its common name, Pheasant’s Tail Grass. It grows to about one metre tall, is a New Zealand native and waves around in the breeze 'like a fibre optic lamp'. Irresistible, as my grass border is placed to catch the glow of the setting sun. Will plant it tomorrow.
