Loch of the Lowes
It was a great experience today to see the male osprey adding sticks to the nest at the Loch of the Lowes - the Scottish Wildlife Trust’s reserve near Dunkeld. From the hides at the water’s edge I watched the osprey fly in and out through the optics. There will be a live webcam from now on capturing all activities, including the arrival of the female, the eggs, hatching and chicks if all goes according to plan. The male only arrived from Africa on Sunday. Last year the pair's eggs were not fertile and they endured a lot of harassment from a pair of crows! So fingers crossed for this year.
