Munnar Hill station

We shoe horned ourselves out of our beautiful room this morning - actually it was not too difficult as the festival was still going on in the valley below - heaven knows the decibelage of the music, and set off to visit a tea museum and then took jeeps down to the plain below. The plains are where rice, cardamon, pepper and coffee are grown. The hills are reserved for tea.

We also stopped at a school where 'differently abled' people are trained in cooking, fabric dying and printing and gardening. Their fabrics and material products are sold all around the world and are amazingly beautiful and time consuming to produce. The fact is that the Tamil people do not marry outside of their own community in Kerala and so in breeding has caused a large number of defects which this school is trying to address.

The photo today is on the plains in the Bison valley, our hotel can be seen up above the church.
